Meg and the Arrabiata sauce
This weekend we have the pleasure of hanging out with Austin while his parents are away. He is 7 and lots of fun. Jason has a buddy to play Wii with and Austin gets the (almost) undivided attention of two adults so it's a good fit.
This evening I learned that 7 year olds do not like spicy arrabiata sauce. Austin said it was burning his lips and face so we quickly gave him some milk to help douse the heat of the spice. He then moved on to what we were having - baked potato bar. He happily topped his potato with ham, chicken, cheese, BBQ sauce and sour cream, artfully spreading the toppings over his potato. Very cute.
I cleared the table as Jason gave Hayden her bath then the video gaming commenced. Jason usually gives Hayden her bottle but I was happy to do it as it kept me from playing Lego Batman on Wii. As I was feeding Hayden, I heard the dog's collar clinking against a dish indicating that one of our pups was eating dinner. I started to realize that this was not normal clinking, this was enthusiastic - wow, this is really tasty clinking. I got up and saw my pug on the dining room table. She had finished the entire bowl of spaghetti arrabiata and was in the process of finishing off Austin's glass of milk. I think it's time for her to sleep this off in her kennel as I really don't want it to come up on my new carpet.
Well, that's all for now, I'll keep you posted on our adventures this weekend!

We had Hayden's 6 month checkup today. She did so well! 4 shots
including H1N1 and the regular flu vaccine. Mommy got the H1N1 vaccine
as well. No swine flu for us! :)

Hayden weighed in at 17 pounds, 3 oz and is 27" long. She is my tall
girl! She is in the 91st percentile for height and the 78th for weight.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
